Take advantage of our complimentary 60-minute consult with Dr Yi Chan to discuss your dream smile and explore your options — you may even be able to preview your new smile.
Dental veneers are thin, handcrafted ‘shells’ that are placed over the front surface of the teeth. They are used in cosmetic dentistry to refine and improve the shape, size and colour of the tooth with minimal impact on the underlying tooth structure.
At Arc Dental, we offer two types of veneers: porcelain veneers or composite resin veneers.
What are porcelain veneers?
What are composite veneers?
As a Digital Smile Design (DSD) Master, Dr Yi Chan brings artistry, aesthetic insight and clinical precision to every dental veneer case. For you, this means a deeply considered smile that is not just perfectly suited to your face, age, and personality, but also ensures optimal oral function.
Using DSD technology, we digitally map your future smile, and you may even be able to preview how your veneers will look before treatment begins.
Every veneer is custom-designed to correct imperfections and suit your natural features. Never one-size-fits-all, never overdone.
Whether you choose composite or porcelain, your veneers are made to last — in strength and in style.
With DSD technology and Dr Yi’s guidance, you’ll see, shape and approve your smile before any dental treatment begins.

For porcelain veneers, your teeth are gently prepped and impressions are taken at your first visit, then your veneers are hand-crafted by our highly skilled ceramist, ready to be placed at your second visit. For composite resin veneers, we’ll prep your teeth and perfectly sculpt your veneers in a single visit for fast, flawless results.
Walk out with natural-looking results that feel aligned and entirely yours. Plus, receive expert aftercare instructions on how to look after your veneers and ensure your new smile lasts.
The cost of dental veneers depends on the type of material used (composite vs porcelain veneers) and the number of teeth treated. The cost of porcelain veneers is typically higher than composite veneers cost. All pricing and your treatment timeline will be clearly outlined in your personalised treatment plan.
At our Surrey Hills dental clinic, you’ll always know your treatment costs upfront. Plus, you can pay in a way that’s comfortable for you with our affordable payment options.
Scared of the dentist? At Arc Dental, we know dental fear and anxiety can stop you from getting the treatment you need. That’s why we offer a range of sedation options, including oral sedation, IV sedation and general anaesthesia, to help you feel calm and comfortable while we care for your smile.

Porcelain veneers are highly durable, stain-resistant, and handcrafted by a skilled ceramist for the most natural-looking finish. The porcelain veneer process is typically done over 2 or 3 appointments. Composite veneers are made from composite resin, a more affordable material which still offers a natural finish, but is not as hard-wearing as porcelain and may discolour over time like natural teeth. The composite veneer process is faster and can usually be done in one visit. We’ll guide you to the right choice during your consultation.
The lifespan of your dental veneers varies from patient to patient, depending on a number of key factors such as how well you take care of them with good oral health practices (e.g. not biting into hard objects or food), whether you grind your teeth, whether you wear a night guard, and how often you see your dentist for regular dental check-ups. The longevity of veneers also largely depends on the material they’re made from:
Porcelain veneers typically last around 10 to 15 years on average. However, the lifespan of your veneers will depend on your individual case, risk factors and oral health practices. Porcelain is an extremely durable and hardwearing material, but you still need to treat porcelain veneers with proper care.
Composite veneers typically have a shorter lifespan of around 5 to 7 years. But again, it’s important to keep in mind that the longevity of your veneers will depend on your unique case.
Absolutely. When done correctly by an experienced cosmetic dentist, veneers require only minimal preparation and should not damage your teeth. We preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible, creating only the space required for a flawless fit.
Yes, but we may recommend a night guard to protect your new veneers. During your consult, we’ll assess any teeth grinding or clenching habits and incorporate protection into your treatment plan.
Every smile is unique, so the number of veneers needed to achieve your desired outcome will vary from patient to patient. Some patients may only require 2 to 4 veneers to enhance the front teeth, while others seeking a full smile makeover in Surrey Hills may require anywhere between 6 to 12 veneers. Dr Yi will discuss your ideal outcome and tailor your plan accordingly.
No, teeth whitening treatment will not work on composite or porcelain veneers. If you want to whiten your smile, it’s best to do this before dental veneer treatment so your veneers can be matched to the shade of your whitened smile. Bear in mind that, just like natural teeth, composite veneers will discolour over time due to stains from food, drinks and other lifestyle factors like smoking. Do porcelain veneers stain? While they are highly stain-resistant and won’t stain as easily as natural teeth or composite veneers, they are not 100% stain-proof and may discolour slightly over time.
